AIAG Member Meeting: A Discussion with Greenville Homeless Alliance

September 21, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Join us for our next membership meeting in a new location to discuss the homelessness in Greenville County at The Community Tap.

Homelessness is a bigger problem than any one agency or government entity can solve. Born out of a crisis under the Pete Hollis Bridge, local philanthropy, City and County government, and service providers formed an organization in 2018 called the Greenville Homeless Alliance with the mission of strengthening partnership and increasing options for people experiencing homelessness. Did you know that at least 3,800 people are experiencing homelessness in Greenville County?

Susan McLarty, Director of the Greenville Homeless Alliance, will introduce you to people who experienced homelessness and help you gain an understanding of durable solutions. You will learn how this movement is building upon key policy decisions such as the new City of Greenville Development Code and to be adopted by Greenville County Universal Development Ordinance. As creatives working in the field of architecture, you will leave with a clear understanding of how you can continue to impact the quality of life in Greenville and the surrounding area. We believe in a Greenville County without homelessness, where there are safe, affordable homes for everyone.

Afternoon snack and drink ticket included. Spots limited to 30 people so purchase your tickets soon! CEU credit pending.
